FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions I hear every week from buyers, sellers, and military families across the Phoenix area: the commute to Luke AFB, using a VA loan before a PCS move, and Arizona down payment assistance. If your question is not here, call or text me anytime.

How long is the commute from Surprise or Goodyear to Luke AFB?

Both Surprise and Goodyear are convenient to Luke Air Force Base, which sits right beside Surprise in Glendale. From most of Surprise, plan on roughly 15 to 25 minutes in typical traffic, with neighborhoods in the southern part of the city coming in even closer. From Goodyear, expect a similar short drive of about 15 to 25 minutes north on the west side, so either city can work well for your duty day.

Can I buy with a VA loan before my PCS report date?

Yes. Service members with PCS orders can typically use their VA loan benefit before reporting, including buying a home at your new duty station. What matters most is a clear plan: a valid Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and timing that lines up with your orders and report date. I help military families coordinate this all the time, so reach out and I will walk you through your options.

Does Arizona have down payment assistance?

Yes, Arizona offers down payment assistance for qualified buyers, and it can make a real difference in what you bring to closing. Programs include the statewide Home Plus option and first-time buyer and low- to moderate-income programs such as Arizona is Home, each with its own income limits and qualifying rules.
